Pebble Beach Food & Lots of Wine~

Or as I'd like to call it
Pebble Beach Food & Lots of Wine~

Oh yea, and let's just start off by saying:

yes, yes I did ;-)

It's like my ribbon and trophy.

*

Let's take it from the beginning~
Hello happy greeter...
(notice her tag, it says volunteer.  hmmmmm are you thinking what i'm thinking???)

Glass in tow,

Ready to go?!
First stop
Not exactly wine, but it might as well be for my husband,
he could have stayed here all night, really.
& well, you'll see we made a couple of visits ;-)
Ahhhhhh refreshed and ready to roll!
droooooooooool
Nom nom nom
Fork Art
not to be confused with Folk Art*
very very very cool
yum, my first sip and it didn't disappoint.
Followed by a mass of people doin exactly the same thing
;-)

Then I see these bad boys...
That's the way I like 'em
just a little token to take home as well...

Fun to go!
Yup, Iron Chef Morimoto,
& might I just add,  I was NOT angry about THIS octopus.
Double Nom Nom!
This is me with Chef Morimoto...
This is me laughing at a Morimoto joke...
let's just say he was commenting about my camera and the fact that
it was made in Japan with an expletive thrown in.
Caught me by surprise.  Totally took the fear factor out of meeting him.
Now we're talkin...
Mar-ga-rita anyone?
Tower O' Patron
Right about now, I was feelin pri-ty happy.
wink wink
So that made this picture that much funnier...
hmmmm you think he thought it was funny?
All of a sudden things start spinning...
Gettin a wee bit blurry and lots of commotion is a brewin....
and

wait

is that...

naaaaaaa

hold the phone~

is that
who I think it is????

It couldn't be, OMG nooooooooooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaaay!
This is EXACTLY the way I saw it....

Here's how the conversation went:

Me:  uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hi.

Tyler Florence: Hi.

Me: Mr. Florence may I please take a photo with you it would be much obliged.

(yea, that's how dorky it was...)

then the camera wouldn't focus...

45 seconds later...

Me: wait one more please

45 seconds later

i sweeeeeear it was the camera that wouldn't focus,
not the fact that I was trying to prolong this experience what so ever*

It was funny though... Mr. Tyler Florence even thought so.

Cha Ching!

Photo + Autograph

=  makin my day...

Now it's time to slow down and cool off...

I think in my mind I needed this much water to get me into 2nd wind mode...

Olive Oil & Mozzarella is much needed and enjoyed.

But then again,
look at the bling and
look how sparkly this champagne is...

I mean it's the Food AND Wine after all...

SO
Cheers!
to Round 2

oooh  Anne Burrell I know her
Secrets of a Restaurant Chef!

I want a picture! I want a picture!

On seeeeecond thought... what was I thinking?
NOT my best photo...
I'll spare ya the too much to drink look and bluuur me out.
But Anne looks great!
Apparently I didn't look at the camera after that photo and I thought I could handle some more...

Montecito wine...

Suuuuuure.

and another...
How can you say no right?
Can you hear him?
How 'bout it?  Just a sip or two?

okaaaaaaaay

or three?

why nooooot?

Uhm
Definitely need some more FOOD to go with my Wine
;-)

Just in luck .... cause I came across this,

& Here's how THIS conversation went:

Ahhhhh that hit the spot.

Just then, Javier (my hubby) says:

"Hmmm kinda feel like a Stella"

Okay.
Stella for you,
Hoegaarden
for me.

They ALL had the same idea.

Time for a photo op!

Really, he's just holding me up right now.

Oh wait!  It's 3pm.....

Closing time already???!

Last Call?!

& Last Stella...

Cheers!
(did I mention I really tried hard to have him fork over this glass)

This is me at the end...and the blurriness of this photo is
EXACTLY what I saw.
Booooooy was it fun!

Thank goodness for this comfy stylish lounge chair...

This is Javier, I think he was
 counting the Stellas,
and smiling.
Oh, this is Steve, the guy with the cool hat that invited us to an after party...

And that was the start of a new friendship.
He's a really cool cat.

This is my bag...full of great momentos and even some orchids for Bella.
Since it was her 9th birthday the next day
and she said we HAD to bring her back something from the event.
It was the only kid friendly thing we could find
;-)

So after we sat there and chatted with Steve
and made our way out of the event...
we realized:
we were pretty much the last car in the lot.

Classy.  I know.
But when you've had as much fun as we did,
you don't want it to end.

  2. Oh my goodness, you left the sweetest comment on my blog, I just had to run over here - you did an amazing job sharing this fantastic experience! I wish I was able to encounter as many "celeb" chef sitings as you had - what fun!

  3. Wow, what a great time!! I volunteered at Gourmet Chicago last fall. If you work one day, then you get to go the next day for free (saved me $175 dollars!) It was so fun I am doing it again this year. I noticed you are from Modesto.. I am working on a project for a company who is looking for local bloggers from Modesto. Can you e-mail me and I'll give you more details? slimshoppin@gmail.com
